Bio:
Beena Kumar is a pathologist with over twenty years of clinical, teaching, research and leadership experience in the public health system. She has been part of Monash Health since 2006. Her current role at Monash Health as the Program Director of Pathology involves clinical governance and operational responsibilities of a large pathology department.
Her clinical skills are in Anatomical pathology with an expertise in breast and lymph node cancers. She has strong interest in molecular pathology and has been instrumental in developing and establishing a repertoire of solid tumour testing in the Molecular Pathology laboratory at Monash Health.
She has been involved in teaching and training junior medical doctors over the last 15 years and is currently sits in the panel of chief examiners for Anatomical Pathology within the Royal College of Pathologists, Australasia.
Currently she holds an academic position, within the School of Clinical Sciences, affiliated to Monash University and has built a strong relationship with Monash University and the Translational Research Facility to strengthen the role of Monash Pathology in teaching and translational research.

Her involvement in research projects has eventuated in several publications in peer reviewed journals.
