Edwina Duhig is a graduate of the University of Queensland with Bachelor of Medical Sciences and MBBS degrees. She trained in anatomical pathology and spent most of her training time at the Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Upon receiving her fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1997, she became staff specialist at The Prince Charles Hospital and became director of the department of Anatomical Pathology in 2007. During her time at TPCH she developed an interest in thoracic pathology and in collaboration with the thoracic unit and University of Queensland at TPCH, she participated in research on lung carcinoma. In 2012, she joined Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology and became a pathologist at the John Flynn Hospital, Tugun where she maintains an interest in lung carcinoma. She lectures at Bond University and retains an academic title from the University of Queensland, with whom she continues to collaborate in lung cancer research.
